Masthope is a four-season recreational community where homes may be used as full-time residences, weekend retreats, vacation properties, or rentals. How often a house is occupied can influence its maintenance history and the types of concerns that develop between visits.
Properties throughout the community may sit on wooded or sloped lots and include elevated decks, exterior stairways, fireplaces, crawl spaces, lower-level living areas, and outdoor gathering spaces. Some homes have been expanded or updated to better suit vacation use, larger families, or year-round living.
The natural surroundings are a major part of Masthope’s appeal, but they also affect the building. Shade can slow drying, leaves and debris can collect on roofs and in gutters, and sloped ground can direct water toward lower levels.
